Welcome to Oven Theory! I'm so happy that you're here along our journey.
Being one of three kids to my immigrant parents I was so fortunate enough to grow up with diverse flavours.
One thing I did notice was the lack of flavours I grew up especially with desserts. Which is one of the main motivations of why Oven Theory exists today!
Oven Theory is a pop-up bakery that specializes in Asian-inspired cupcakes that are light, fluffy, and not too sweet. Departed from traditional methods, there is a delicate focus to uplhold the subtle sweetness often found in Asian baking.
In simple terms its a way to bridge Canadian and Asian desserts to allow people to come together and break bread together!
What started as a small side project in 2019 during Covid to then becoming burnt out from the hospitality industry and corporate work life, I made the biggest decision in my life by starting my own bakery!
I realized life is too short and I want to live my life to the fullest.
3 years later despite not having a physical store we've grown our community, our impact, and collaborations we never would've imagined. Some notable collaborations include our participation at the TikTok #SmallBiz Pop-Up at Union Station and our collaboration with Uniqlo Heartland for their grand opening!
With 10+ years with disciplines from cafes, restaurants, resorts, and hotels I'm confident that these cupcakes will bring a wow factor to your next gathering or personal me time.
2026 we're looking to expand out of our shared kitchen and achieve our first location. I really hope you'll be able to be part of our journey and help us share our love for food with others!

Our team is made up of a small, dedicated group who are obsessed with desserts that aren't too sweet.
Spreading joy through thoughtfully crafted desserts with our signature not-too-sweet flavours is what we do best.
You can find us at select pop-ups across the GTA each month, along with offering pre-orders, pickups, delivery, and catering for events and celebrations.
During summer months you can also find us with our signature matcha drinks!
